1. Introduction:
1.1. Overview: This user manual provides step-by-step instructions for connecting to a UniFi Dream Machine SE using OpenVPN. OpenVPN is a secure and versatile VPN (Virtual Private Network) solution that allows you to access your network securely over the internet.
1.2. Prerequisites: Before proceeding, ensure you have the following:
- UniFi Dream Machine SE with OpenVPN configured.
- Admin access to the UniFi Controller.
- OpenVPN client installed on your device.
2. UniFi Dream Machine SE Configuration:
2.1. Enable OpenVPN: Access the UniFi Controller and navigate to Settings > VPN. Select the VPN Server tab. Create/Edit the network you want to connect to and enable the OpenVPN service. Configure with the WAN IP 47.48.230.6. Add Users.
2.2. Generate OpenVPN Configuration: In the UniFi Controller, go to Settings > VPN. Select the VPN Server tab. Edit the network you want to connect to. Under the "Configuration File” section, click to download the config file making note of the saved location. Save the changes and adopt the changes to the UniFi Dream Machine SE.
2.3. Note Server IP and Credentials: Make note of the OpenVPN server's IP address (47.48.230.6) and the credentials (username and password) configured in the UniFi Controller. You will need these for the client setup.
3. Client Setup:
